Pretteman Brewer, Rev. War Soldier
Posted by: Judith Kimsey (ID *****8487) Date: August 21, 2002 at 20:08:27

I recently came across a listing of "Militia Officers of Chatham County in the Revolutionary War" and found a Pretteman Brewer who precedes the Prettyman Brewer that is often attributed as a son of Old Ambrose Brewer. As follows:

"List of men commanded by Capt. Stephen Poe-
Pretteman Brewer} Serg'ts"

Does anyone know anything about this "Pretteman"?? With no other information to go on, it's hard to place him, but I suspect he might be a grandson of George and Sarah Brewer, or possibly even a son who isn't listed in the will

Other Brewers listed in the same document:

Muster Role of Capt. Joab Brooks Company
Howel Brewer

Captain Isaiah Hogan, September 19th, 1772
Henry Brewer
George Brewer
Olliver Brewer

Please let me know if you know anything about this earlier Pretteman.
