Hi there,
I looked at the sites and the name of the submitters for the LDS info and one of them Nathan I have corresponded with over the years. Nathan never told me the middle name Athen so it must have come from one of the other 2 people. I will try to drop an old fashioned letter to Valerie and see if she can enlighten me. The census of 1850 in Wayne CO., MS lists Patience (Howell's wife) as being born in Georgia. Unfortunately Howell was deceased by 1830 so I cannot tell you about his birthplace. I have been told some believe he was from Randolph Co., NC, but the lady who thought that is now passed away. However, I do know that on the 1880 census of Wayne Co. Drew Brewer, their son, lists both of his parents as being from MS. But as I am sure you know that info could have come from Drew's wife who assumed MS. etc... I feel sure we come from that Lanier Brewer line still, although I cannot prove it. Patti
