Georgia,

Thanks for your response. I told you something incorrect in my first posting. Mary McCollough married Samuel Russell Brewer after her husband Burl Cloud died. (Mary and Burl's son, William, married Elizabeth Brewer, Braxton's daughter).

Do you know where in Hancock County the Braxton Brewer house was?

Perhaps he is actually buried in Claiborne County. They may not have wanted to haul him all the way back to Sneedville to bury him. Do you know what church Phoebe and George Carter attended?

Also, I have no information on Braxton's wife, except that her name was Mary. Do you have any information on her?

Also, I would be interested in seeing the minutes of the Brewer's Chapel church. Which library are they in? I will check them out next time I come down to Tennessee.

Do you know if anyone has a picture of Braxton Brewer that they are willing to let me make a negative from? I am almost certain that one was made. Question is, does it still exist? and, if it does, does the owner realize who it is?

Are you in Tennessee? I am in New York City. I usually get to Tennessee at least once a year, and spend most of my time doing family tree research. I am originally from Morristown (about 30 miles south of Sneedville).
