Thanks, Sharon, for your prompt response. Perhaps there is someone else out there who has a Harlan Brewer (this one b. 1815 in TN, m Sarah Skinner in Greene Co., IN 1844; they had Irvin, Mary Ann, Ira Daniel, Nancy Jane and Emmette Tilghman.

2nd marriage to Mary E. McKinnon in 1865, one daughter (known) Margaret C. who m James Andrews.

Am wondering if Harlan was in the Civil War (there are a couple of Harlans who enlisted from IL) The last census found for him was in 1860 in Vermillion Co., IN. It's likely he died sometime after 1864 or 1865, probably in either Vermillion or Greene Co., IN or perhaps elsewhere. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Harlan Brewer after 1865, please respond. Thanks very much. nlb
