The public library has a book that shows thomas brewer storekeeper from london who purchased the plantation of temperance flowerdew in 1634. this plantation was given by governor george yeardley to his new wife in 1619. she was the daughter of anthony flowerdew and martha stanley, her brother stanley flowerdew bought the property next to her and it was called stanley 100. the land was later called the brewers branch. thomas gave part of the land to warwick county for use as a church parish. Brewers branch is shown on a map i have posted on my website, that also includes the surveys taken by robert bolling for the years 1711 through 1726 with the names of the people living there and the size of the property and the next door neighbors. There are three maps of the area .I have the one posted. that shows from chesterfield down to the nc line.where you will find brewers mill swamp aright on the line. Property of William brewer, son of George brewer and Abiagail Wyche
