I have no paper proof of any of this as yet, but I will give you what I have found so far.
James Adam Lindsey b.1758 d. July 1838.
Married around 1782 in Chatham County, N.C. Delilah Hodgson Brewer b. about 1760 in N.C. and died before 1810 in Chatham County, N.C.
James Lindsey is rumored to be her second husband. Her first was supposed to be some Hodgson (I can't find him).
James and Delilah had the following children:
Archibald P. B.1784 D.appr.10-27-1831
Rebecca B.1786 D.1788
John W. B.1789 D.1853
Delilah B.1790
James Alfred B.4-28-1793 D.7-2-1872
Susannah B.1795
Sackfield Stanford B.1797 or 1801?
Temperance B.1799
I also found a posting that stated per court records that James and Delilah received custody of Peter and Mary Brewer in 1785. These are Peter Brewer's (deceased) children. They were first awarded in 1782 to Sackfield Brewer, Peter's father. This is the last court entry:
1785 May Court Being suggested to court that Mary and Peter Brewer bound to Sackfield Brewer at last court...being in being injurous to said orphans. Ordered that Sackfield Brewer deliver said orphans to James Lindsey and Delila his wife, they entering into bond to bring said orphans to next court at Hillsboro.
If you find anymore on Delilah Hodgson Brewer PLEASE let me know if I have traced it all correctly she was my ggggggGrandmother.
