Hi Garry, thank you for the information. I too have been to cemetary. My line is as follows:
My grandmother was Rosa Brewer.
Her mother was Melinda Brewer.
Melinda's parents were Isaac Brewer & Martha Cameron.
On Marriage certificate for my grandparents Rosa's father is listed as Isaac Brewer(deceased). Unless there was another Isaac Brewer to whom she was previously married, Isaac would be her grandfather.
I have a brief paragraph about the family from a book called "The Shipping Days of Old Boothbay" which states that in the year 1752 James Brewer was one of the signers of a petition, in connection with the Kennebeck Purchase, from that settlement. It mentions James great grandson Isaac(1820-1897) married Martha A. Cameron and lived near her family on Ebenecook Harbor.
I have traced Brewers as follows:
James Brewer(Salem Ma.)-still working on him'
John Brewer B.1752-1818 m. Susanna Day 1772
James Brewer m. Margaret Wall 1794
Isaac Brewer m. Martha Cameron
Melinda Brewer m. Enoch Greenleaf(his second marriage)
I have done some research at historical society in Boothbay Harbor. I haven't really focused on siblings at this point. Would be interested in anything you have on James of Salem. Thanks Garry.
