I might be able to help you with some information regarding James Richard Brewer. One line that I am searching is David Barton Brewer. He was the brother of Mahlon Brewer, who died in the POW prison in Andersonville, Georgia. In the 1870 Census of Laurel County, Ky, it lists David Barton as B P Barton. His wife was at that time, Esther Matilda Lickliter. Both were born in Tennessee. David was married to another woman, at this point in time I believe her to be P Whited. This is all I know about her. David's brother, Mahlon, also had a son by the name of James Richard who was born about 1857 in Claiborne County, Tennessee. I do not have any further information for you, but if this James Richard was married near Laurel County, he could quite possibly belong to David Barton Brewer and his first wife.

Hope this helps,

Kathy McCleery
