George W. Brewer m. Martha Dickenson, MS
Posted by: Beverly Date: June 24, 2000 at 22:04:10
  of 8972

G. W. Brewer buried with Martha "Mattie" Brewer in Pleasant Hill Cemetary, Pollock, LA

I didn't make notes as I took pictures, but G. W. was born 1834-1838.

Then I found this:
G. W. BREWER Marriage- M._ A. L. DICKERSON
Marriage: 11 Jan 1866
Lawrence, Mississippi

and pension index info:
BREWER, G. W. CP1.17 1.000000 37.000000 6.000000 BREWER, MARTHA A. L.
-------------------------------------------------
BREWER, GEORGE W. CP1.17 1.000000 38.000000 4.000000 BREWER, MATTIE
-------------------------
BREWER, MARTHA A. L. (DICKINSON) CP1.17 1.000000 37.000000 6.000000 BREWER, MARTHA A. L.

SO.........one of the relatives then provided the info that this George W. Brewer provided a letter from a Church in Mississippi, when he joined the Church in Louisiana - the Church in Mississippi was Fair River Church, Lincoln County MS. The Lincoln County is practically non existant.

Does anyone out there have connections to Mississippi Brewer's who could shed some light on this? All I was ever told was that the Brewer's had Indian blood, and there is a G. W. Brewer listed on the Guion Miller Rolls and have now found a G. W. Brewer listed as Cherokee Nation, Native American.

Anyone who would have had more info died long before I was born in 1961.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Beverly
