Hi Paul - would you be part of the Hays, Ellis, Brewer, Woods group that came to East Texas in the 1850's?
The additional info I have uncovered is on the Fayette County, AL website (www.rootsweb.com/~alfayett/faybibles.htm) under the bible records. It is from the Hawkins / Hickman bible and shows John Hickman's wife as Polly, d. 18 Jun 1837. I noticed it also has the marriage of Asa Hawkins and Sarah Hays and the birth of Sarah M. Hays. Visited with Penny Blankenship this weekend and we are considering a Brewer reunion in the fall in Edom, TX. Will keep you informed.
