James Brewer=James Booher? Knoxville,TN

All my life people have misspelled my last name Booher as Brewer or Booker. I think I am finding the same in my research. I am looking for James Booher who married Juanita McDaniel in Knoxville before 1903. I have found a marriage license for James Booher to Neata McDonald on June 25, 1898. I then found on the 1900 Knox County Census, living on Hannah Street, James Brewer and wife (almost unreadable), could be Nettie or Mattie. This is next door to several McDaniels on each side and leads me to believe that this Nettie or Mattie was likely a McDaniel. I believe this to be my great grandparents.

Can any of you Brewers shed some light on this for me? Was James Brewer the same as my James BOOHER?
