Tunis was born abt. 1798 in NY; possibly Montgomery Co. In the 1840 census he was
in Cincinnati 2nd Ward. In 1850 he is shown in Millcreek Twp. with Phoebe b. 1824; Emeline b. 1829; Sarah 1831; Amanda b. 1835; William b. 1841; and John b. 1846. I didn't find Tunis there in 1830, BUT the City Directory for 1825 shows him as a carpenter at Fifth between Vine and Race; born NY. In the Court of Common Plea Records Tunis is shown as the guardian for William Folmsbee who was orphaned about 1832. Does anyone know who Tunis' wife was?
