I can give you a little information regarding the Bretz family. My records are from "Our Ancestors" by Vera Fishburn Myers Weaver & Alvin L. Weaver. The first records of the Bretz family are of Johan Bretz married Ottillie Diehl 1696, they resided near Bad Nauheim, Germany. Their daughter Anna Katherine Bretz married Johan Philip Fishburn in 1721. Johan was of German extraction, a well to do farmer liveing in Derry Township, Dauphine County, PA. Their son also Johan Philip Fishburn, went to Germany seeking a bride, and married on 10 Nov 1752 Catherine Elizabeth Bretz. They had a family of nine children all of course Fishburns. There does seem to be a close relationship between the Fishburn's and the Bretz families. I belive the Fishburns came from small town now absorbed by Frankfurt. The Bretz must also be from this same area.
If I can be of further help, I have family group records on many Fishburn generations.
