Hi Elizabeth/Lindsey,
Many thanks for your message, with the background information on our surname "Brettoner".
Earlier last year 2007 Robin (my eldest brother) had a DNA test done whilst overseas, to see if we are linked to Britton/Bretton lineage. The results came up negative.
I especially appreciate the explanation concerning "brec" & "tun".
Robin has been able to trace back seven generations (including ours), however getting further back than that so far has eluded us.
