I have some information on Daniel Brestel who originated from Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania and settled in Peoria, IL in 1835. He was a carpenter and Methodist preacher who had five daughters. Don't have any information on his parents.

There are also:
Charles Brestel listed in the 1790 Census for Bern Twp, Berks Co., PA
Charles Brestle #in the 1820 Census for East Hanover, Dauphin Co., PA
Michael and Joseph Brestel in the 1820 Census for Londonderry, Dauphin Co., PA

There are a number of Brestels listed in the 1830 census in PA, NY, CT and VT.
