Seeking descendants of Brereton brothers who came in 1850s from Tullamore, Ireland. I descend from Robert Brereton who changed his name to Britton. Some of his brothers (John, William, Frank) retained the spelling after coming to America just before and after 1850. Brother George stayed in Tullamore and worked at the Constabulary. John first lived in Butler co., Ohio, near his sister Eliza Klinch. Frank, Robert, and John all went eventually to southeast Iowa. We cannot locate William. Nor can we find the family members on immigration lists, but family stories say they came into New Orleans, then worked their way up the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers.
