I have just come across your postings regarding Colonel Thomas Brereton and his son Willima Pellett Brereton. I'm doing some research for a friend whose 2nd great grandfather was William Pellett Brereton. Was Colonel Brereton actually present at the marriage on Feb 27, 1839 or was he merely shown as the father of the groom?

The only Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Brereton I have located was subject of a court martial in Bristol in January 1832 and committed suicide on January 14, 1832 before the end of the proceedings. According to my information his spouse was Olivia Ross who died on January 14, 1829 and there were 2 daughters born in 1826 and 1828 who survived their father.

I'm trying to prove that this Colonel Brereton was previously married and William Pellett Brereton was a result of that marriage and was probably born sometime before 1818. Any information on the marriage to Mary Harriet would be greatly appreciated.
