Where did the date of 1628 as birthdate for Katherine come from? Guessimate? I have found no Brenton listed in New England, until William who was made freeman in Boston in 1634, May 15th. Appomited overseer of the House of Correction while being built Sep 25th 1634, Selectman 1634 thru 1637.Married Martha Burton d/o Thomas Burton. He was one ofthe signers of the Compact to settle Newport Rhode Island. Deputy Gov. 1640-7, Governor from 1666-69. His will written Feb 9 1673, Pro Nov 3 1674 Inventory 10,768 Pounds 13 shillings and 4 pence ; In this will he mentions his ,"sister Katherine Cooke", and sister " Christian Sandy's children", and a cousin Phillip Sandy. Besides his children.I don't have a copy of the will here at home, but read it at the public library. I too descend from Hannah as well as brother Nicholas Cooke. Would appreciate hearing of anything on this family back into England. Thanks Howard Boswell
