Margaret Doherty nee Brennan

Well, this is one of those serious "dead ends." Here is what I know
as there is plenty I don't know. In her obit, it says that when Margaret
Brennan came to this country, it was as a small child. She was born in
1846, Ireland (death certificate also says, born Dublin, Ireland)
The obit doesn't give a year of emmigration it just says she came to
"this city" (which is Utica) as a small child. She married William
Doherty, a painter in abt 1870. Henrietta, the oldest daughter, was
born in NYC (or that is what they say in the 1880 Census). By 1880,
the family is in Mankato Kansas. By 1900, the family group is back
in Utica, NY, less Henrietta.

The death certificate lists Margaret Brennan's parents as Peter Brennan and Emily Kelly.

There are a couple of Peter Brennans in Dublin Co, but none the right
age for a child, and none that emmigrated to the U.S, so far.

Well, if you have it this far, thanks for any ideas or suggestions.

Barbara
