I have a possible Brennan connection. My family name is Dooling and I know they (James & Elizabeth & 4 kids) came to Minersville about 1850. They were members of the St Vincent's church. In the St Vincent's cemetery this is a Bridget Dooling buried with the following inscript: "IHS Sacred To the memory of Bridgett Dooling A native of Ireland, Queens County, Parish of Mayo who departed this life Nov 21, 1859 in the 60 year of her age May her soul rest in peace Amen erected by sons Laurence John & Edward Dooling Also Mrs Ellen Brennan Died Feb 11, 1914" I am speculating that Bridget came to the US some time after 1845 (at the age of 45) and, if so, her sons were probably born in ireland. Another speculation, since she wasn't buried with her husband (and no other Dooling appears to have been buried in St Vincents, her husband could have died before they emigrated. Further speculating, that my Doolings (James & Elizabeth) were related to Bridget & her husband. Since James & Bridget's husband (assuming Bridget & her husband were of similar age) were of approximately the same age, they could have been brothers. There are other Doolings in the area that I can not connect to James & Elizabeth and they could be related to Bridget & her husband. More speculation, since Ellen died 54 years after Bridget, it is possible she was Bridgets daughter who married a Brennan. It seems unlikely that she was not some relative of Bridget's and with the difference in age, it seems likely she was the next or maybe even the following generated (could have been Bridget's granddaughter) According to the Schuylkill County Vital records Volume 3, page 392, there is a Michael Dooling buried on Row #20 of St Kieran's (Kyran's) Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Heckscherville, Schulykill Co. Penna with NO DATES OR INFO. In addition to that, on Row #19 of the same grave yard, there is a Edward Brennan buried. He was born in Queens Co, Ireland died Dec 13, 1878 - 80 Years old. This is just a GUESS. There is a death record of Laurence Dooling who died in 1852 in Philiadelphia. I am guess that this might have been the husband of Bridget Dooling who was buried in Minersville. Laurence was the name of one of Bridget's children. The below could be the John Dooling who was the son of Bridget Dooling buried in St Vincent's cemetery in Minersville, There ALSO were Brennans in the Regiment. Forty-eighth Regiment, Company C 48th Regiment Additional Companies, Bios, Organization & Service Recruited in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania Mustered in July, 1861 Tower Guards 48th PA Regiment Co. C Captain Henry, Pleasants George W. Gowen William Clark Musicians James Brennan Privates Brannan, Murt Brennan, Edward Brennan, William Brennan, Murt Privates Dooling, John I found a record that indicated that the above John Dooling died Nov 18 1868 and according to it he was buried in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Minersville, Schuylkill Co, PA The problem with Brennan connections is that there are so MANY of them. The problem with Dooling connections are that there are so few (and there are about 45 different spellings that could be Doolings). Jay Dooling Notify Administrator about this message?
