Jack: how are you doing after the surgery etc.? Well it's now 6 months since I've been to Brennan-land. Saw Dennis and Mary Brennan in Glenickney, Glaslough. One can walk from their home and cross the border into Middletown, Co. Armagh. They had a whole bunch of photos of the time they visited with my sibs in NJ and Calif. Dennis's dad Barney was my mother's [nee Sheila Brennan of Lemgare, Clontibret] brother. On my way north I couldn't find her other brother Pat Brennan [Drogheda Labor Leader]'s grave in the Drogheda cemetery although I know I was in the correct area. Ran out of daylight. I had planned to go to Belfast after seeing Dennis and Mary but since Father Morrow in Scotland couldn't make it over until the weekend [I picked him up at the docks in Larne] I instead went off to Donegal via the Killea border crossing over to Enniskillen and [watch for the sign that says "Scenic route"] up along the breathtaking road along Lough Erne, over to Pettigo and into Donegal. This was to catch up on the McCloskey side of the family. It all worked out wonderfully well because when I got to Belfast the following Thursday, I was informed I was just in time for the first anniversary mass at St. Malachy's in downtown Belfast for Sheila McGrillen [whose mother Mary Alice Brennan was my mom's older sister] and her sister Bridie Bradley: both sisters had died just months apart one year earlier. Met a whole bunch of Brennan connections who showed up for that Saturday vigil Mass. My brother George is going over in a couple weeks. He wants to meet them all. Hope your health is holding up. /frfr Notify Administrator about this message?
