A picture and biography/family history of William Brennan are included in "Montana, Its Story and Biography", Vol 2, pgs 352-353. Father: James Brennan, b. 1813, Carlow County, IR; 1874, imm. to Ontario. He married Clarissa Keys, b. 1824, Prescott, Ontario. In 1872, William went to be a ranch hand in California, then to operate Governor Latham's gas works at Menlo Park, CA. Worked the San Francisco Gas Works for several months, drove horse car lines & was a conductor on SF street railway. Moved to try mining at Bodie, CA. In 1879, located to Silver Bow, MT > Helena > Hamilton, MT (where he built the first house in Hamilton)>Harrison>1918, Missoula, MT. In 1889, Helena, William married Miss Rosie Ferrell, daughter of Brown & Elizabeth (Denning) Ferrell, of Pony, MT. Brennan children: Clarissa (Mrs. Fred Carman); James at Whitehall, MT; Francis; John; William; Rose; Alice. I am not related. I can send an image of this biography.
