Brennan Family Genealogy Forum

Hi,
I posted a message earlier with very little information and now I have more info but still need more. Thank you Ellen Elliott for the Brennan info in Dubuque Iowa. With that info I think I have found the right family. I'm looking for a Peter Brennan who married a Sarah Ryan in 1849 in Dubuque County, Iowa in 1849. I have tracked them in the census. They were in Iowa in the 1850 census the 1860 census I find Peter living in Chicago, Ill. with his father-in-law and no Sarah and no children with him. In the 1870 census I find them in Winona, Winona, Minnesota with the following children. Mary b. 1850 in Iowa,Annie b.1854 Iowa Willie b. 1861 Iowa Alice b. 1863 Minnesota,Edward b.1865 Minnesota,John b. 1867 Minnesota Sallie or Sarah {my line] b. 1870 Minnesota. In the 1880 census I find them still in Minnesota with a son Richard b. 1872 and it says that Peter is a widower and lists the following children Anna, Alice, Edward, Willy, John, Sahra, Richard. This is the last census I find Peter in. Richard moved to Chicago and have tracked him in some of the following census. Sarah married a man by the name of James Cleary. I have a letter written by Sahra's niece and she talks about her Uncle Richard. Does any of this sound familiar. Peter was a stone cutter or stone mason. Would like to find family that can fill gaps as Sahra's daughter Vera was my G Grandmother and supposedldy she ran away from home at an early age and never talked about her family. My father is 82 years old and wants to find out about his family. Got alot of info on the Clearys but none on the Brennans. Any help would be appreciated.
