I'm sorry to get into this discussion so late, but I have just found this web site. I am looking for any links to my family, but my information is sparse at best. My father's name was Samuel Harley Brennan, who was born in Iowa (we think)somewhere around 1905. My father did not get along with my grandfather, and left home when he was 12. He worked on the railroad as a "water jack" for a year or two, and then enlisted in the Navy in St Louis, MO in 1919,as a 14 year old. My father retired from the Navy in 1951, and resided in Southern California until his death in 1971. He married my mother, Margaret Ault, in 1936 or 1937, and had 3 children, my older sister Dorothy Smith, b.1939, myself, Samuel Jr, b.1942, and my younger sister Patricia Ray, b. 1951. Although I know my father's history from 1919 until his death, he refused to speak about his family or early history, other than what I described at the beginning of this email. I am trying to find my family history, so if you know or have heard of any Brennan that may be related to my father, I would be grateful for the information. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
