My g.g.grandmother was Mary Brannan born 1818. She was reportedly from Kilitimagh or Ballina but also they may have been from Roscommon which is very close. Her father's name was Francis Brannan. We know of two brothers by name only, John and Thaddeus. We have photos of niece, Bridget who moved to Dubuque and also a nephew, John who was in Mason City, Iowa at one time. In a Dudley, England 1871 census Mary Brannan had remmaried after the death of her husband. Living next to here were Edward & Catherine Brannan and their daughter Bridget with her husband ( surname Sumerhill) and also Hugh & Margaret Brannan. I don't know if any of these name will make sense? Mainly I responded because of the niece and nephew who moved to Iowa.
