Was Patrick Brennan born in Ireland or Pennsylvania? If he was born in Ireland, does the 1900 census say when he came to this country? If he was born in Ireland and came before 1880 or if he was born in Pennsylvania and lived in Schuylkil County by 1880; you can find the 1880 Brennan listings for Schuylkill County on the Schuylkill County Brennans Web Site at: http://www.geocities.com/schuylkillcountybrennans
On the home page click on Brennans in the Census and when your get to the census page there is a group of listings for the 1880 census. Click on each one and using the find feature on your brower, search for the name Patrick. He would have been listed at around age 15. There really are not too many of them of the right age group, and some may even be eliminated by place of birth. This will give you a start on finding which family he may have been listed with.
From there, you have to become a detective. checking other census listings for the families, 1870 and the Schuylkill County Census directory for 1890 ( a lot of the directory has been transcribed and is in the archives of the Schuylkill County Gen WEb site.
Good luck on your search,
Elizabeth
