That sounds quite incredible and I thank you very much for your reply. Are you in touch with Bob Brenchley who also posted a reply and emailed me recently? If not, please let me know and I think we should also tell Betty Brenchley Lawson in Suffolk. I will email her anyway and cannot wait to hear more. I've been researching my mother's Brenchley family for about 5 years and never further back than Edward before this. Did you know he was a Master Cordwainer and yes I had to look that up too!
