Hi Vanessa,

Your great-grandfather John R. BREMNER, born 1882 was the son of James BREMNER and Catherine RAE. They were married 20 SEP 1878 in Aberdeen St. Nicholas, and appear in the 1881 census in Aberdeen. Their first child, James was born 1878, Jane Stott BREMNER was born 1881; John R. BREMNER born 1882, Alexander White BREMNER born 1885, Williamina Milne Reith BREMNER born 1890. There may be others; this information comes from the 1891 census and the Scottish Birth Records Index.

James BREMNER was a tailor, and the son of labourer William BREMNER and Mary TROUP. Mary was dead at the time of his marriage to Catherine RAE. Her parents were Thomas RAE, a paper maker and Elizabeth ROSS.

I have additional details if you'd like to e-mail me.

John
