Courtesy of Edward Breland, John Paul's parents are thought to be Samuel Breland and Mary M. Unknown. Samuel and Abraham Breland were the sons of William Breland.
It is said that John Paul's father died when he was young. If Samuel died in 1830, John Paul was about 8 years old. It is said that an uncle in New Augusta MS then raised John Paul. Does anyone know who this could have been? John Paul, born in Greene County MS, was a Civil War Veteran and a blacksmith.
Also, John Paul had a sister naned Adeline. Has anyone ever heard of her? She is said to have first maried an Unknown Bush from Bush LA and second a man named Smith.
John Paul married Sarah Ann Pennington in 1858 & bought 40 acres in St. Helena Parish LA in 1860.
