Stephen, I have just spent an entire day trying to find the origin of the Breland family to explain this mystery.
In the records, there are no early Brelands on the SC/GA border in the Barnwell, Burke Co., GA, area. All of them are named Breeler, Brealer, Breelo, or a variation. They are named:Abraham, Amos, etc. I find them to be State Line hoppers. Were they kin to the Odom/Odam family?
