On the 1900 U.S. Fed. Census of Washington Parish, LA I find the wife of Albert Galatin Brown Breland, Nancy James Dixon Breland, a widow, with her two sons, John Oliver Breland and Albert Galatin Breland. This family is also listed in the Breland books. Albert Galatin Brown Breland is the brother of William G. Breland. Living nextdoor to Nancy and her sons is my great grandmother, Sarah Merritt Breland and her children, my grandfather,Shelton Oliver Breland, my great aunts Ella (Luella) and Nettie (Bernetta) and my great uncle Walter Breland.
I have found many Brelands in books and on census records. these Breland books seem to have found all the same Brelands I have except MY Breland family even though they were living right next door to Mrs. Albert Galatin (Nancy) Breland in the 1900 U.S. Fed.Census of Washington Parish, LA. WHY ???
