I believe you have a match to the family of one of my elderly cousins (by marriage). She is the grandaughter of Charles Breece/Breese and Ada Elliott through their daughter, Nellie.Have you ever managed to find out what happened to Charles?Did he indeed just take off and thus can be found elsewhere 1920 or after....or did he possibly meet his demise out on the oil fields? The story I've heard is that Ada went insane after Charles didn't come back and was put into an institution where she died.I'm just beginning to research this, but I'm not sure that was the case, or whether she just went to live at the county farm while most of her kids were farmed out to various people. The only one I actually found at the county farm inn 1920 was Gracie. As the youngest, Ada may have taken her there with her.I'm trying to write up a lot of this to give to my cousin (she's 81) so that she can pass it on to her son.She told me that Ada was buried at the mental institution...(probably an unmarked grave if that is the case). Is there more to this story that you know?
I saw a post on this forum from a grandaughter of the Shumakers.Ruby Breece Shumaker was another daughter of Chas and Ada.Ruby's sister, Mildred was in the Shumaker household in 1920. Have you talked to that person more since the several posts. The posts are quite old...back from 2001 and 2002, so I'm writing to you first, because you had the most recent posts on forums, so I figured you were still active with this.
