I am a direct descendant of Joel Huston Breeding and am looking for information on him. He could've probably went by the name Huston Breeding. A little background: Joel is the son of Byron (or Byram or Birone Breeding) who was born in Tennessee in 1821. The family later moved to Carroll County Arkansas probably sometime after 1870. Joel married Belle Wilson (her full name is Marinda Isabel Wilson) on Jan 1, 1884 in Carroll County, Arkansas. They had seven children one of which was my great grandfather. His family shows up in the 1900 census as living in Carroll County Arkansas with his family and his dad. His dad would die in 1901 and is buried at the rule cemetary in Rule, AR on the Rule-Green Forest Road. I believe that Huston Breeding may have died around 1908 in East Cottage Grove (Lane County) Oregon. Huston may have been a laborer in the local lumber mill. The circumstances surrounding his death have not been fully revealed to me. I do have several questions: 1) Why did Joel Huston Breeding move to Oregon from Carroll County Arkansas? And when did he move? 2) How many members of the family moved with him? On the 1910 census, two of the children show up as living in East Cottage Grove, Oregon. 3) What was his cause of death? 4) What happened to Belle Wilson? Had she gone with Huston to Oregon? I think she may have died in 1914 (There is a book "Index of Death Notices Appearing in the Arkansas Gazette, 1914" by Oscar G. Russell and the book itself contains a complete list, A to Z, of people who are mentioned in the Arkansas Gazette newspaper as having died in 1914.) If anyone has any information or photographs on Joel Huston Breeding (or Belle Wilson), I would appreciate it if you could contact me. Notify Administrator about this message?
