The Daily Times, (Blount Co. TN) Monday, July 18, 1983, Page 1:

Taken in part from a large article entitled “Four Die On Area Highways.”

“Bryan Scott Breeden, 19, of Rockford, died when his motorcycle went out of control on Self Hollow Road near the Knox County line early Sunday morning.
Breeden, 19, Route 1, Self Hollow Road, was dead on arrival at Blount Memorial Hospital following the motorcycle accident reported at 2:33 a.m. Sunday.
Blount County officers said Breeden’s body was lying in a ditch not far from his wrecked motorcycle when found. He had apparently lost control of the machine coming out of a curve as he traveled west bound on Self Hollow Road riding a 1982 model Suzuki.
A graduate of Heritage High School, Breeden was employed as a mail clerk at U-T.
Breeden’s death, which was one of two in traffic-related mishaps during the weekend in the county, is the third of the month from traffic related causes in Blount County, and the 13th of the year compared to eight at the same time in 1982.
Survivors include parents, Earnest and Betty Breeden; sisters, Mrs. Paul (Becky) Cunningham of Maryville, Mrs. Steve (Glenda) Young of Rockford; three nephews, two nieces.
Funeral will be at 8 p.m. today at Smith Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Steve Hickman officiating. Entombment at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sherwood Mausoleum. Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
