Hello Frank,

What I'm researching is the Parents and siblings of my gg-grandfather James Willis Brazeel. Per our DNA results we belong in the Breazeale Family, Henry the Planter of Virginia and later the South Carolina Breazeles. We had matches to the decendant of Elijah Breazeale (son of Willis) this family resided mostly in Mo. after moving from South Carolina to Tennessee. We also had a match to a family in Georgia.(All the census records in Alabama show James Willis Brazeel as being born in South Carolina and per some of the Hendricks research I have found, the Hendricks came from Pickens County and were Dutch). Both of these family's are some of the first families of Blount County Alabama.

I can tell you this little bit of information, there is a very close connection to my line and the Hendricks Family. James Hendricks signed the marriage bond for James Willis Brazeel in 1834 in Blount County Alabama. My gg-grandfather's 1st two land patients were next door to James Hendricks (these were in the 1830's). His two oldest sons have middle names that belong to the Hendricks family, James Levert Brazeel and David Hendricks Brazeel. These Hendricks had a David A. Hendricks as the Minister on a marriage license for one of James Willis Brazeel's daughters. Thomas Wayman Hendricks was in the same Confederate Calvery Unit as both of these older sons(12th Alabama Calvary). The younger sons William (I have not located any civil war records on him) and the younest son, Meredith Austin (He was too young) both moved to Texas after the Civil War. James Willis Brazeel purchased land in the 1850's in what has become an area of Blount County that borders Cullman County. My great grandfather, David Hendricks Brazeel remained in Blount County Alabama and is buried in Blount County. I have a picture of my Great-Grandfather David Hendricks Brazeel on what appears to be his wedding day.

We had thought that we might be decendants of John Blocker Breazeale because he had a James that fit the time frame we are looking at but this does not appear to be the same James per other researchers. I'm still looking at Joel and some others to see if I can find a fit. Any help would be appreciated.
