Bonjour Michele,
The extract you cite from the Breau Genealogy book is from the 1999 edition (there has been a major revision published in 2004).
I have asked my co-author (Clarence Breaux) about this second Vincent Brault called Le Jeune, supposebly the younger brother of the older Vincent Brault, unfortunately he had no data to support that hypothesis and I have never seen any document in my 23 years of research supporting the hypothesis of two Vincent Brault (one being a younger one - Le Jeune).
There never was any baptism act found for a younger Vincent Brault from the same parents or in wich the older Vincent Brault would have been his godfather.
Since another Vincent Brault was not found, we are left with the fact that there is only one Vincent Brault at the moment, child of Rene Brault and Marie Renaulme for wich a baptism act was found.
This same Vincent Brault is found in 1674 with his mother Marie Renaulme as a witness to a marriage between his brother Rene Brault and Charlotte Gaudier in Coussay,France. If he was at a marriage in January 1674, then he cannot be the Vincent Brault that is already in Acadia at the 1671 census. There is no mention in the act of a Younger of Older Vincent.
Au revoir,
Robert Brault
