Bonjour Salyann,

I tried to send you an email at the email address that appears here (sakluz@yahoo.com) but it looks like it bounced back to me, anyway here's my email to you:

Bonjour Salyann,

I had answered earlier today your message posted in the Breaux Forum on GENEALOGY.COM, but thinking about it, I think I may have a clue as to your family. Here is what you posted and my remarks about it:

>I am looking for "Loren Brow", b. 1815 in France, Married >to Margaret Spenard in Quebec, moved to Vermont and had 6 >children:

I have a Laurent Brault (b. 29 jan 1816, L'Acadie, Quebec) who married Marguerite Lanoue (8 may 1838 in St-Jean, Quebec) and who died 28 jul 1896 in Bennington VT.

>George Washington Brough (1855) - my great-great >grandfather

I have one of Laurent's child that was named George Brough (b. 2 oct 1855 in Hinesburg VT) who married Mary Etta Harrington on 1 nov 1874 in Fall River, MA and who was buried 17 jun 1920 also in Fall River MA. Could that be your great-great grandfather ? I have 7 children for that couple: Jean-Laurent, Ida, George W., Henry James, Harriet, Mary Lucy and Francis Judson.

>Mary (1842)

I also have a Marie born ca 1842.

>Elizabeth (1846)

And also an Elizabeth born ca 1846.

>Matilda (1850)

A Marie Mathilde b. 28 jan 1850 in Henryville, Quebec.

>Peter (1852)

A Pierre (Peter) b. 3 may 1852 in Burlington VT.

>Mahala (1854)

       In 1854, I have a Marie b. 18 apr 1854 also in Burlington VT.

>Our family records indicate that the latest generations >(starting w/ Loren's children) use "Brough", he was using >"Brow" and the original may have been either "Breault" or >"Breaux". (I have been told by family to rhyme it with >"cow".) Also, I know that many of the French names were >hacked up pretty badly during immigration, so I am also >looking for "Loren" as "Laurent", etc.

Brault, Breault in french sound like Bro in english.

>I know that George relocated to Fall River, MA, and I >believe some of his siblings did too.

The siblings I have for my George were all born in Fall River MA. Would your grandfather be in there ?

>Any connections or recommendations would be appreciated!

I think I may have the right family, what do you say ?

Au revoir,

////
