looking for information on Joseph Breau and his wife Mary Robarge. Joseph's DOB (as calculated from the tombstone, which is the only record I have of them) is 1793. DOD is May 18 1858. Wife Mary's DOB would be 1802, with a DOD of Oct 13 1878. since they are listed on the BACK of the tombstone for my known ancestors, Joseph Breau and his wife Angeline M LaFountain (as her name is listed on the tombstone- she is also known as Marie Angelique Dessanges (La)Fontaine.) This Joseph was born ca. 1818, and died Jan 4, 1890. and his wife Marie Angeline was born ca 1817 and died Jan 6, 1899.
they are all buried in St John's Cemetery, in Keeseville, NY. there are actually photos of the headstone (both sides) on Findagrave.com I also have my own photos that we have taken... we have visited twice.
it is my assumption that the Joseph and Mary on the BACK are the parents of the Joseph on the front. given that they are on the back of his headstone, and given their ages, and given the name... it seems quite likely. but I have not actual proof at this time.
later generations have spelled the Breau name in many ways. the most common in my line has been Brehio.
