Thanks. As soon as I can will def. do it. We have lots of distant cousins, but all the older ones are gone, and no one wrote down anything.
Do know now that my great uncle John Wesley Owen WAS born in Brazil around 1865. His parents are listed as both born in Alabama. Mama has a letter from a great great grandmother (Ellen who was married to Lavert (sp) ) to their daughter Sadie Mitchell. My aunt says there was told of 4 brothers. Still can not find info on great grandpa David Daniel Owen he died in 1950. I remember my great uncles WD and Curley(nic).
Hey how many generations will Brazil let you claim citizenship? I think we need to check Civil war records for soldiers or deserters. I don't particularly care which. But I doubt if they took too well to being dispossed or told what to do. I would not.
