John'
From what town in Lithuania did your paternal great uncle Anthony come? My grandfather was John Ciernauskas (Jonas Czernauskas)born in 1870. He had a brother, Sylvester, who settled in Liverpool,Eng. andused the surname Chernowski. The other brother was Joseph who settled in Montreal and used the surname Cherney. I am aware of only one sister and her name was Ursula. She settled in England. Who were the parents of your great uncle Anthony? My grandfather came to the USA in 1904 and settled in New Jersey.
I am also aware of the fact that my grandfather's mother remarried after his father's death. The children of that marriage were Charles Shlikas and Vytautas (Walter) Shlikas. They are half brothers to my grandfather. It is possible we could be collateral relations.
Where in Pennsylvania did your grandfather, William, settle? Any answer from you would be greatly appreciated.
Mary Kephart
