Seeking career info on William Henry Alfred Kingdom 1860s
My Gt,Gt,Grandfather W.H.A. Kingdom (an engineer from Peckham, London) employed 12 men and moved to Para, Brazil in the 1860s....I'm trying to find out why? Was it railways, rubber, coffee?

He had a number of children in Para (2 boys, 3 girls) and returned to London some 10 yrs later.
At least one of his boys Ernest Albert Kingdom made return journeys to Manaus on SS.Teutonic in 1907.
Would love you know more about their trade and who stayed there?
any help eagerly lapped up
best
