Is this the "Charles F Baker" who appears in the 1870 and 1880 US Census, by 1880 living with American wife Victoria in Brooklyn NY with two US-born children. Her was apparently born in Brazil in about 1831, but I have not yet found any record of that (he was not baptised at the English Church in Rio de Janeiro).

I have a note a few other Bakers in Brazil in the early/mid 19th century, but none that I can tie to CFB.

Or is your ggf someone different?

David
