If you know he was alive in 1940, I assume his relatives must have kept an envelope with an address or at least the southern state where he settled. This information would help a lot. In 1938, every immigrant under 60 years old had to register to have a "foreigner ID". To do so, they had to fill a form, whose fields may contain useful information. This form can be requested to the National Archive, but one needs to inform the state where the immigrant was living at that time.
There are LDS microfilms available. However, our ship manifests for that frame time usually displayd immigrant´s name, age, marital status, faith and profession. In hostelry books, where they spent the quarantena, it was noted the state of their destination, which is not to say they didn´t move on, later.
I have found some Musialowski in a web brazilian community named Orkut (www.orkut.com) but since I don´t know how common the surname is I think we should have more details about Antoni, before contacting those Musialowskis.
