Hello Gilberto,

Thanks for your message and for doing some looking for me which is much appreciated.

I had checked the 1890 to 1960 passenger lists too without success which is why I'm sure it would have been 1886 - 1889. There is a passport application (on findmypast website) for a Mrs A Neal on 31 Dec 1886 which could be Annie but of course might not be. She may have sailed to any of the major Brazil ports I suppose.

I've just checked with my mother and she confirmed two things. Firstly, Silas (the grandson of Annie) was a contempory of my mother (they were 2nd cousins) so he was born around 1915 to 1925. Secondly, they corresponded in the 1930's and 1940's and his surname was defintely NEAL (so they didn't change it in other words). My mother and Silas lost touch after 1950 so I do not know whether Silas had any family or even whether he married.

Thanks again
Kind Regards
Carl
