My great grandmother Adelaide Victoria Hammond departed Liverpool on the Royal Mail SP Company ship 'Essequibo' bound for Rio. She returned to England with a husband Aristides Jose daCosta sometime before my grandfather Hubert Jose daCosta was born in 1917. Does anyone know how I might trace where my great grandfather was from, from whence they departed Brazil and whether they where married there as I have drawn a blank with my research?
