Thank you very much for taking the time to search and answer. Absolutely, the company name was Chadler which stood for Chocolates Adler, an abbreviation. The company, howver, opened in the 1940's (the article in Correio da Bahia is wrong on this). Jose Adler was Jewish per Correio da Bahia. I'm curious to know more about other Adlers in Brazil. As I mentioned a Henrique Adler emigrated to Bahia from the South in the 40's. I also know that CHADLER ewnterprise was tightly controlled - a family business - which leads me to believe that the controlling family was the Adlers. I hope that maybe someone from Salvador and/or Bahia might be able shed light on all this. Again, thanks, Gilberto.
