Before 1910 two young men SILVESTRI from Azores, Fall River, MA to Brazil
On the passenger list for SS Patria May 9, 1903 from San Miguel, Azores to New Bedford, MA lists Marianna, a cousin, Maria Isabel, sister and Jose CABRAL, brother going to their Uncle Manuel Silvestre (hard to read sp) at 181 Hope, Fall River, MA.
On SS. Patria on Aug 27, 1903 the rest of the CABRAL and de JESUS families arrive. Maria de JESUS a widow, going to her son Jose (above).
She was a widow two times:
1. Silvestri
2. Joakim Francisco Cabral.
Maria Constantina de JESUS, daughter of the above Maria, also a widow going to her brother Manuel Silvestre now living at 22 Grand in Fall River, MA. Don't know husband's surname.
Maria Conciciano de Jesus OLIVERIA (b.1858) was married to a Sivestri in Ponta Delgada and had at least two sons one of which is this Manuel. Sometime before the 1910 census the two sons go to Brazil.
Has anyone seen this spelling for Azores "Silvestre" or was it Silveira? I looked through a few pages of the passenger list and could not get a idea how the writer would of worded this surname.
Anyone have their relative come from San Miguel, go to Fall River via New Bedford and then go to Brazil?
