Vaughan Confederados from Alabama

I am searching for Larkin Vaughan, wife, Mary "Polly" who may have emigrated to Brazil from Monroe County, Alabama. On the 1860 Alabama United States census, they had sons named Dempsy, born 1852; James, born 1860. There may have been another son named Benjamin. They had a daughter who is said to have married a sea captain in Mobile, Alabama, name unknown, and he may have helped with the transportation to South America. Another daughter, Manerva, married Benjamin Porter, and they remained in Alabama, U.S.A. Our Vaughans cannot be located in the United States after the 1870's and may have gone to Brazil. I am trying to find out the given names of the Vaughan families that are on the monument in Americana.
