You might want to look in the BRASHER surname. There were several Brasher/Brashier/Brazier/Brasier/Brashear families in Mississippi. My wife's family is descended from Pleasant Brazier whose name is spelled in 4 of the above forms. He came from Marlboro Co. SC to Clarke Co. MS between 1850 and 1860. He had 13 chlidren and I have found evidence of at least 7 of them in the Clarke Co., Wayne Co., and Jasper county areas from about 1856 to the present. Since the 1890's many of them have moved on to FL, GA, TX, and many other places.
