We're offering a Christmas Special on our Brazier/Brasher Book. In 1708, William B. Brashier Sr, 34, d. Baltimore Co, MD and left four orphans, three of whom the court put in foster homes. The youngest son, Thomas Brazier (that's how HE spelled the surname) moved to Orange Co, NC about 1753, where he wrote his will in 1770. Thomas's sons, Thomas L., John, Aquilla, Samuel, and James Brasher moved to Greenville Co, SC after the Revolution. After 1800, John and Aquilla moved to KY; Samuel moved to GA, and his descendants to IL; James and some of his nephews moved to AL; Thomas L. Brasher remained in Greenville, where many of his descendants spell the surname Brashier. After that, Brasher-Brazier-Brasier-Brashier families are found in KY, MO, AR, AL, MS, TX, wherever new land was opening up. The book contains about 8,000 members of the family, their parents, children, etc, with whatever documents we could find concerning their wills, estate proceedings, the land where they lived, their census listings, the old letters they wrote, and (when we could find a descendant who knew anything) a sketch of their life. Shirley Brasher McCoy, born in Greenville, SC, and I have written a book about this family. A BRAZIER/ BRASHER SAGA, 300 Years of the Brasher, Brazier, Brashier, Brasier Family in America, by Charles Brashear and Shirley Brasher McCoy. 532 pages, 8.5 x 11, soft-bound, ~50 photos, maps, scans of old documents, 36-page index; the book weighs about 4 pounds. CHRISTMAS SPECIAL: $35.00 + $3.50 S&H. Related Families include: Armstrong, Ashmore, Audas, Black, Clark, Cox, Falkner, Gardner, Hawkins, Hamby, Henderson, Hosea, Howard, Isbell, Kendrick, Langston, Mebane, Nelson, Parker, Pyle, Ray, Seaborne, Teague, Whitfield, and others. CAUTION: This is NOT a book about descendants of Robert and Benois Brasseur, Huguenot Immigrants to VA about 1635, whose surname was anglicized as Brashear. Some of their des- cendants, especially in TN, spell the name Brasher and Brashers. "Why, it's as big as a Sears Roebuck Catalog!" (Dorothy Kunnecke) Here is an abbreviated contents of the book. 1.
